Breast Lift for a Youthful Boost
Recapture the sexy, perky breasts of your youth with breast lift surgery at Grove Plastic. Drooping or sagging breasts can be the result of getting older, having children, breastfeeding or weight fluctuations. No matter the cause, you can give “the girls” a more long-term boost than you can get with even the most popular and expensive push-up bra. To correct breast ptosis (or sagging), our breast lift procedure removes extra breast skin and then restructures breast tissue to a more lifted position before tightening the remaining breast skin and repositioning the nipple higher on the breast mound. The result? Perky breasts that look great with or without a bra!

Is Breast Lift Surgery Right for You?
You may be considered a good candidate for breast lift surgery if:
- you experience breast sag due to aging, genetics, pregnancy or weight loss
- your nipples fall below your breast fold when breasts are unsupported
- you want perkier breasts that are positioned higher on your chest
Breast Lift Incisions
Depending on the size, shape and position of your breasts, and how much ptosis (or sagging) is present, we will suggest one of the following three incisions for your surgery:
- “Donut-shaped” incision. This incision is made along the outer circumference of the areola and is ideal for patients who wish to reduce the size of their areola while lifting their breasts at the same time. This incision is typically used to reduce the size of the areola and has a limited ability to actually lift the breast.
- “Lollipop” incision. This approach combines two incisions — one around the areola and one extending down the front of the breast from the areola — and is ideal for women who have a mild amount of sagging. This procedure is ideal for a woman who has a small amount of droop and only needs a little tightening of the skin.
- “Anchor” incision. This incision method combines a lollipop incision with an additional incision that runs horizontally along the breast crease, and is optimal for women who have a significant amount of sagging and need a larger amount of skin removed.
Breast Lift Combination Procedures
Breast lift surgery can be performed on its own or in combination with another procedure to achieve the patient’s desired breast or body contour.
Breast Augmentation with Lift
Many women wish to add volume as well as lift to their breasts; for these women, the breast augmentation with lift procedure is ideal. In this combination procedure, our surgeons add volume to breasts that might have previously had a deflated appearance, particularly in the upper pole of the breast mound. By adding breast implants, trimming excess breast skin and repositioning the nipple to a higher position, we can help you to achieve breasts that are both rounder and more youthful-looking. The addition of an implant to a lift surgery adds that youthful fullness to the top of the breast that people perceive as being young and sexy.
Breast Lift with Tummy Tuck and Liposuction
For women who wish to fix problem areas on their body caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding, our mommy makeover procedure will help them get to their pre-baby body. This procedure can be customized to fit the body shaping needs of each individual woman. Often, women will choose to have breast lift surgery along with a tummy tuck and liposuction in order to lift sagging breasts, flatten their stomach and smooth out fat deposits on their hips and thighs — all common concerns after pregnancy. Many women will choose to have a labiaplasty procedure as part of their mommy makeover as just another way to return their body to that youthful pre-pregnancy state.
Recovering from Breast Lift Surgery
Following your plastic surgery procedure, the surgeon will place you in a soft bra that will provide support to your breasts as they heal. Your muscles may feel tight for the first few days, but it is important to move your arms and get them up above your head. This stretching will significantly improve your recovery. You will need to have someone drive you home after surgery and preferably stay with you for the next 48 to 72 hours. During this time, we recommend that you get out and walk, which will assist your body in healing itself. Avoid lifting anything over 10 lbs. To manage discomfort, use pain medication prescribed by your doctor and continue to stretch your arms above your head.
Though it is important to rest and not lift anything heavy while healing, it is equally important to be out of bed and moving gently starting the day after surgery. These regular, gentle movements will increase circulation in your body, which will help swelling go down. Most patients are healed sufficiently enough after seven to 10 days, and can return to work and normal daily activities at this time. If your work is more physical in nature, it may take up to two weeks before you are able to return to it.
Your Grove Plastic surgeon will start you on a scar management program two weeks after your procedure. This program will help scars to fade as quickly and completely as possible. You will likely see your scars begin to fade about three months after surgery, though in some cases it may take up to a full year for them to fade completely. Keep in mind your scars will get pinker and look worse over the first three months, but don’t let this bother you. It will take a full year for the scar to fade. We will check scarring and other issues related to proper healing during your follow-up appointments, which will be scheduled for the first two to three months following your surgery.
